I have lived many lives in my life and learned all the tricks to make it the best it can be. Despite the challenges I have faced, I can say I am exactly where I’ve always wanted to be today. I was born and raised in New York and kicked off my career working as one of Manhattan’s top court stenographers. I got married when I was twenty-two and had my first child soonafter. When my son and daughters were born, I dedicated my whole life to raising and molding them into the amazing humans they are today. I moved my family to New Jersey where I bought my dream home and became involved in our community. I loved being a mom, but I decided to go to school to get my license in cosmetology and pursue my talent as a stylist. Life was great, but I realized I wasn’t as happy as I could be in my relationship; my ex-husband and I divorced. As a single mom, I learned how to make everything count, to run a household on my own and co-parent with my ex-husband on a very amicable basis; all the while looking for my own happily ever after. I chose to go back to school and find a job I love. I am now an RDA, registered dental assistant, Nitrous Oxide Certified and I specialize in pediatrics and oral surgery. I can truly say I enjoy going to work every day.
Sadly, in the past few years, I have been through some of the hardest trials of my life.
I lost my mother to early onset Alzheimer’s brought about by anxiety and depression. This, in the hardest way, taught me a great deal about mental illness and loss.
A few weeks after my mother’s passing, I was out walking with friends and was hit by a car twice. I was told I would never be the same again. Eighty-five percent of my body was shattered and re-built with bars and screws. Not only did I heal from the mental and physical trauma, but I am currently in the best shape of my life. I continue to manage pain daily, without medication, but I have never let it stop me. After being in the hospital for six months recovering, my best friend passed of breast cancer. At times I truly felt like I had no one but myself. Maybe I did and maybe that’s why I am so strong!
I am proud to say through all of my struggles I have raised a dentist, a psychologist and an artist. My kids are best friends, I actually like and I am mentally the strongest and happiest I’ve ever been in my life. I get multiple calls a day from friends and family asking me for career advice, relationship advice, mentoring through struggles, overcoming loss, and achieving goals. I am not just good at helping people get what they want, I live for it. After all, I know a lot about living!
